Switch Gears ------

It is a combination of disconnect switches and circuit breakers used to isolate an equipment in a substation. 

Type of switch Gears ------

1. Circuit breaker. 

2. Relay. 

3. Contector.

1. Circuit breaker -----    

 It is used to breaks /trips the circuit in case of short circuiting OR overload. 

Type of circuit breaker 

* M.C.B. --miniature/mini circuit breaker.

                  

* M. C. C. B. ---Moulded ase circuit breaker. 

                       

             

* E. L. C. B.--- Electrical Leakage circuit                                  Breaker.  

                         

* R. C. C. B.--- Residual current circuit 

                         Breaker .

                         

* A. C. B.  ---    Air Circuit breaker. 

                       

2. Relay -------

It is  an Electromachenical switch. It consists coil, No contact, NC contact. It holds only control concept. 

3.Contactor----

If we add the power contact with the control contact then relay becomes a contractor. Contactor holds the both control concept as well as power concept. 

                       

When control concept is energised, all ‘No’

 Of 3-phase converts to ‘NC’ and supply gets started then the motor get start to run.
